Why Study in Poland?
For students who want to study in English in Europe on an affordable budget and without the requirement of a blocked account, Poland is at the top of the most accessible and logical options.
- Admission Without Exams: Many universities do not require central university entrance exams (like YKS); you can apply directly with your 12-year high school diploma.
- No Blocked Account Required: Unlike many European countries (e.g., Germany), a blocked account is not mandatory for a Polish visa. A standard bank account statement is sufficient for the visa application.
- European Union (EU) Equivalency: Thanks to the Bologna system, diplomas obtained are valid throughout Europe. Post-graduation career opportunities in EU countries await.
- Flexible Academic Transfers: There are opportunities for university transfers and degree top-ups from your education in your home country or another country.

Application, Visa and Living Guide
Poland has a much more practical and flexible structure in document and application processes compared to other European countries.
- 12-Year High School Diploma: Most departments do not require university entrance exams. Extra exams/portfolios are only requested in fields like medicine, art, or design.
- English Proficiency (B2): B2 level English (IELTS, TOEFL, or the university's own exam) is required.
- Process: University/major selection ➔ Preparation & translation of documents ➔ Online application ➔ Receiving the acceptance letter ➔ Visa & accommodation arrangement.
- Tuition Fees: Bachelor's programs are around €1,000 – €4,000 annually; Medicine and Dentistry range between €9,000 – €14,000.
- Accommodation: State dorms are €120 – €300 monthly, while private dorms or shared apartments (WG) are €300 – €650.
- Total Monthly Cost: The monthly living cost of a student, including food, accommodation, and transport, is around €350 – €1,000.
The biggest advantage of the Polish visa is that there is No Blocked Account Requirement. Showing sufficient funds in a standard bank account to cover the annual living and education expenses (Financial Proof Document) is adequate. Applying early is crucial for quotas and the visa process.
